(ii) Aquatic Bioresources (UNICODE 130).
The University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ) is offering two new bachelor’s degrees; Urban Bioresources and Aquatic Bioresources by the Faculty of Urban and Aquatic Bioresources for the students who have followed the biological science stream G.C.E. (A/L) examination.
The Blue-Green Economy based sustainable development is uttermost important with the rapid urbanization. The Faculty of Urban and Aquatic Bioresources degree programs mainly address the current trends required for a knowledge-based bioeconomy. The degree programs are designed with a clear view for the rapid development of Sri Lankan economy through proper management of bioresources.
Mission of the FUAB
Develop the required human resources for the knowledge based Blue-Green Economy by offering bachelor’s and postgraduate degree programs and encouraging research and development in the field of bioresources, while disseminating the generated knowledge to the community via strengthening water security, sustainable food production and healthy ecosystems.
