University of Sri Jayewardenepura
Department of Urban Bioresources, Faculty of Urban and Aquatic Bioresources is structured to develop partnerships with state and industrial institutes in the relevant fields to carry out teaching, research and entrepreneurial activities leading to bioeconomy development, liaise with overseas institutes to develop appropriate technology for sustainable bioresources management. The Dilmah One Earth Centre, Moratuwa is one of Dilmah Conservation’s education and outreach centres which is an impressive initiative to cater the recreational and efficient exhibition for urbanized surroundings. Their core idea of conserving the natural environment is such a great place to teach the university students to be responsible about the aesthetic and functional value of nature. The collaboration between the Dilmah One Earth Centre, Moratuwa which worked towards promoting the sustainable use of the environment would be a fruitful union for both the institutions to achieve a sustainable, productive and quality outcome. Social engagement is far beyond valuable, which will be extensive cooperative effort in creating such wonderful experience for the social wellbeing through aligning the visions of the two institutes.

Prof. Pradeep Jayaweera, Dean, Faculty of Urban and Aquatic Bioresources, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Dr. Surani Chathurika, Head, Department of Urban Bioresources, Dr. Udari Rathnathunga, Senior Lecturer, Department of Urban Bioresources, Dr. Anusha Ekanayake, Senior Lecturer, Department of Urban Bioresources, Mr. Rishan Sampath, Manager, Dilmah Conservation & Sustainability, Mr. Anuradha Ranasinghe, Manager, Agricultural Innovations Nucleus, Mr. Prasad Tharanga, Centre Coordinator, One Earth Moratuwa and Ms. Amandra Senadilankara, Temporary Lecturer, Department of Urban Bioresources. This captivating opportunity provided an enormous gateway for future cooperation between the two institutes towards sustainable resource utilization practices.
